Shameless Apartment Porn - Pic Heavy

Labor Day went splendidly.

I met some girls that live in my apartment complex - one goes to the boyfriend's med school (we shall call her K) and the other is just like me (we shall call her J) - dating a guy that goes to the boyfriend's med school and taking online classes through her old university for the time being.

They invited me to go with them to the complex's pool yesterday and we ended up spending nearly 3 hours poolside - chatting, gossiping, relating stories about med school and med school boyfriends.

I worked on my tan and only got slightly burnt - mostly on my nose, a smidge on my chest and shoulders.

All in all, it was a nice change of pace.

Finally getting out of the house, even if the pool is only 20 feet away from our back door, and getting to spend more time with people other than the boyfriend and Jaks the cat.

I've been in hermit mode lately.

Taking classes online and not working means I'm in the house almost 24/7.

It can make even the most socially withdrawn people a little stir crazy after a while.

Going to the apartment complex's over 18 barbecue the other week, going out to dinner with the boyfriend's med school friends on Saturday, going to the pool with my (hopefully) new friends yesterday - it's all been really, really good for me.

We have plans to eat dinner with J and her boyfriend at their place next week.

The boyfriend seems excited that I've met people.

He's been encouraging me to invite them over sometime for a girls' night or have one of the couples over for dinner some night.

I've actually been wanting to have people over - and not just because I'm starved for social interaction...

The apartment is almost completely finished!

All we're waiting on is a new coffee table and tv stand for the living room and a piece of art that has yet to arrive for the bedroom.

You know what that means - shameless apartment porn time!

The dining room is finished!

New printer cart and a little bit of art in the bedroom.

New decorative pillows for the bed - just waiting on the art to arrive to put over the headboard.

Entryway with adorable new calendar/corkboard.

New throw pillows, wall art, and accessories for the living room!
Whew!

Gets your juices flowing, amiright? Haha.

Now I just need to find a home for my sewing machine and accessories so that they're not always scattered across the dining room and then we can have people over!

I wish our dining room table was bigger just so that I could have more than one couple over for dinner at a time.

I love cooking and, for being a hermit woman, I do love entertaining.

I used to have fondue nights and big parties at my old apartment - so I'm excited to break in the new apartment in a similar fashion. ;)

Time to catch up on all of your blogs - I've been slacking lately.

A bientôt, lovelies.
